FAQs
Much general information
about domains is here in this 'white
paper' on domain names .
Q- Is the purchase price all
I pay to own a domain listed at Domain Pizza?
A- Yes. However
please understand that all domains, even microsoft.com ebay.com,
amazon.com etc. are registered for one year at a time and
expire one year from the day that they were first created.
Years of registration may be added to a domain registration
up to a maximum of ten years. As long as a domain is renewed
you may own it forever.
Your
purchase from DomainPizza gives you ownership of the domain
name. It is the responsibility of all domain owners to maintain
the renewal of their domain name. Domain Pizza will, as part
of the purchase process add as many years as you request to
the registration of the domain (up to 8 extra years) for $8.00
per year. You may select this option on the purchase form.
We suggest that you use this option to add at least one year
to the registration of a domain purchase. The expiration date
of any domain may be checked by consulting the whois database.
Use the 'Real Time' tool at DotCrucible
or at BetterWhois.
Q- Does DomainPizza offer hosting?
A- Yes at our
SERVICES annex we offer hosting and other
domain related services as does our site DotCrucible.com.
Q- How do I transfer my newly purchased
domain name?
A- First log in to your account
at the
present registrar with the user name you entered on the
purchase form and the password we created for you. You will
also need the extra password name of your pet to disarm the
'Transfer Shield'. Then log out and go to the site of the
registrar that you wish to transfer the domain to. Follow
the instructions at the new registrar to transfer the domain.
We recommend transferring to our DomainPizza
Services location which is an excellent choice. DomainPizza
Services is a GoDaddy / WildWest affiliate registrar which
offers the same services as GoDaddy, at discount rates.
Note.
The transfer of a domain name will automatically
add an additional year to the length of your registration,
at the price charged by the new registrar..
You may wish to add several years to the length of your registration
as part of the purchase process if the registrar you are transferring
to charges more than $8.00 per year for registrations. Since
they will honor the current length of registration on a domain
that is transferred to them, adding to the length of registration
during your purchase at this bargain rate may save you quite
a bit.
Also,
most registrars require you to transfer to them if you are
going to purchase added services like hosting and email options
from them. If you will be obtaining hosting from a provider
that is not also a registrar there is no need to transfer
your domain to another registrar except to have all of your
domains with one registrar for ease of management or to pay
as little as possible for renewal of your domain name. DotCrucible
offers renewal and transfer for $8.49 and DomainPizza Services
offers the same on.com domains for $8.20 per year.
